Hamburger menu display options  en

I'm having an annoying problem with the hamburger menu in WebSite X5 Evolution 14. When I click the hamburger menu, it opens the menu along the side of the screen, fine. When I mouse over a "folder", it opens below, pushing everything down. Thus, when I move my mouse off the bottom of that expanded list and onto the next item, the folder colapses, and now my mouse isn't over the button I wanted to press. Is there any way of making the hamburger menu "folders" open to the right or left, rather than down?

No you can't choose the menu opening style, x5 does it automaticly. Maybe this also has some issue with the touchscreen and a mouse. But I am not sure cause i can;t see it, try also to find a way to test without touchscreen (driver) . maybe it then functions better.

Thanks for your reply, Andre! Unfortunately, it's not a touchscreen issue...I disabled the touchscreen, and it still has the problem. I took a few screenshots, but unfortunately it's hard to capture what the problem looks like. I'll try to explain them:

Unfortunately, the mouse cursor doesn't show up in the screenshots. But in the first image, the mouse cursor is over the item "Ministry Council" (it is "selected" in light blue). The menu opens up below the main item, pushing everything else down.

I moved the mouse over the last item in the Ministry Council menu, "Community Building". You can see that it is highlighted with the mouseover color light blue.

Now, here's the tricky one. When I slide the mouse down to the next menu item "News", it gets "selected" (as shown by the mouseover color light blue) and its menu opens. But at the same time, the Ministry Council menu closes. So, when the mouse is over "news" in the previous picture, it ends up over "Vlaamsegmsch." in the following picture. You have to use your imagination a little bit :)

When this action happens, and the cursor ends up over "Vlaamsegmsch.", it does not highlight the Vlaamsegemeenschap menu. However--and to make matters worse--as soon as I move the mouse (for example, to return up to the "News" menu), it activates the mouseover on the Vlaamsegmsch. menu, it becomes selected, the News menu closes, and the Vlaamsegmsch. menu opens. Not very convenient if I want to access something in the News menu!

Hopefully this helps to better visualize the problem. While on the one hand, the problem wouldn't apply to tablets and phones, it does apply if someone wants to open our website on a computer side-by-side with another window (since then the breakpoint is activated and the menu is converted to the hamburger menu). So, unfortunately, it is a concern for accessing our page on a computer, as well.

Thanks again for any advice and support.

Hello Tyler,

At the moment there is no option to change the behaviour of the hamburgermenu and it is meant to appear on a touch screen where you would not experience the same issue.

Many thanks!
