Unable to connect to server in X5 Evol13 but able to in Evol12

I have tried to upload a website from Evolution 13 to my web host but keep getting the message "Unable to connect to server" "Generic Error". I have confirmed, and re-input the profile / parameters are as required but still unable to connect. Strangely I can connect and upload from Evolution 12 using exactly the same profile, etc.; I even copied and pasted from 12 to 13 with no luck. My web host is 1&1. Can anyone help me?

Try connecting with an empty destination folder (step 5 export project)
Then select correct folder manualy and x5 wil ask to set this folder as default, say yes.

Tried that without success, just got the same error message. It does work in Evol 12 but not in 13.
Are you truly shure that all data is the same? Also check capitals and spaces.
I can't imagine that it does not work when v12 works.
Try also an "/" (forward slash only) in the destination folder.
I don't want to mention this but I have had the exact same thing a few weaks ago, but after checking very often I found a small typo on the data.

Success! I had copied and pasted the settings from 12 to 13 apart from the password which I entered as it was on the web hosting site but still no luck (it's not possible to copy from the password field in 12). Success came when I entered the password in lowercase rather than as it was on the host site where it had an initial capital; very strange. Thanks for the suggestions.
