Hi Andre

Please see http://www.northwoodhills.co.uk/ I have 4 coloured boxes on the right of the page. I achieved this by using the table object and reducing the row height to minimum.

I have just upgraded to Evolution version 14 and if you look at the screen print you will see that there is a big gap between the title and the description text, even with the text aligned to "Top". This is because I cannot reduce the row height in the styles menu to below 33. This CANNOT be right. This has been raised in a similar discussion but the solution is not in English.

Thanks, Ray

I see the menu looks better laughing

But why not remove the row ? And why use a table, I don't even know how to get that effect in a table.

But why not use muliple text objects. It can do the same.

Take a text object, then goto style button (in the page not in the text object)

goto text TAB set there your title, inclluding a colour if you wish.

Go back to style tab, set there gradient background select to colour you would like to go from and go to.

Note also the library tab.

Make a few and youre good to go.

PS

Google translate can help too if you can't read a language here.

Best Regards.

Good afternoon Andre.

I took your advise and used text boxes instead. Everything was going to plan but I cannot hyperlink the box. The only way round this is to hyperlink the text which means it will be underlined, which I do not want.

Hi Larry - Must admit I do tend to agree with you.

Regards, Ray

You can set a link on all the text, this is the same as you have now.

Ray, you can set the active link to look the same as all other text if you wish.

Template, Text Field and Button Style, select active link

Hello Ray,

You are correct you will get an underline in that case.

If you correct this, like Eshac say's, all links wil have no underline, if this is no problem then that is a solution.

Else you can also set a descrition text, the text can have a link and can be shown on several ways, there is no underline in the link of the description text.

Best Regards

Andre - That does not work.

Please take a look at the hyperlinked coloured boxes on the home page of http://www.northwoodhills.co.uk/ I cannot replicate this using a text object. I have entered some text into the "description text" and have chosen to "Always show the description" under "options" but nothing dispalys in the preview.

If I could reduce the row height to below 33 in the table object, I could replicate exactly what I had in X5 v8 without going through all these soloutions which do not work.

Eshac - Your solution removes underlines for the whole site, not just for this object.

If you want this create an IDEA post for Incomedia. If you wish I can try to find another solution for you, but that will take some changes to be made on your project and I am not sure if I can comup with a better way.

For the description text:

Maybe the colour of the text is the same as the background? The description text should work.

Ray, following Andre's advice I produced this, and yes, my vague recollection is that links and mouseover effects could be treated differently on each page back in V8.

And as a second test I produced this (on this screen shot, all margins were reduced to zero and the "click here" is a text graphic on a transparent backgtound so that no underline appears when you hover)

You can see the examples here: http://esahc.com/cells

You will find the examples on page 1 and page 1 copy

If any of this is useful, please advise if you need assistance (eg cell style to add heading and gradient background)

The "click here" is attached
