Site is uploaded to host but it does not function
Author: Taco D.Website X5 Prof. v14.
I can’t figure out how to correctly upload a website to the host (itsanewday.eu) and make it work. The url is www.debaattrading.nl. The host already contains some related websites from the company. So on the hosting site I had to drop the files in a submap. Since someone else developed the old website I deleted at first all the files in the specified submap. All the other files from the other websites are left untouched.
In step 1 I filled in the Website Address (url): http://www.debaattrading.nl (see print screen 1).
Filled in step 5:
Server Type: FTP
FTP Address: ftp.debaattrading.nl
Username…
Password …
Destination Folder: (not filled in)
Port: 21
Simultaneous connections: 1 (note: in case that the server doesn't permit multiple connections)
Use Passive FTP
Enable gzip compression
(see print screen 2)
Print screen 3: general map at the host.
After selecting the upload map ( /domains/debaattrading.nl (see Print screen 4)) a dialog box pops up with a question: “The destination folder is not the same as the folder indicated in the export parameters. Do you want to change the pathname? /domains/debaattrading.nl”. If I click “Yes” another message warning appears with the text “The selected server or destination folder does not match the website URL given in the General Settings. Do you want to set it now?”. If I click “Yes” I am redirected to Step 1 where I can change the Website Address (URL). But the name of the website is correct. If I click “No” the files are uploaded to the host (see print screen 5). When I log in at itsanewday.eu I can even start the website from the built in file manager. But I when I try open the website with Firefox, Edge or Chrome all I get is a “404 error message”.
I’ve read https://helpcenter.websitex5.com/en/post/26665 and did various things to solve the problem:
Step 1: Website Address: changed in http://www.domains/debaattrading.nl
Step 5: Server type: tried all four possibilities. With all except FTP the server was unable to connect, Use passive FTP: on and off, simulations connections: different values from 1 to 5, enable gzip compression compression on and off.
Turned virus scanner off and on.
A laptop and a desktop are used to upload the site (just to try if one of them would work).
What I did not is to complete remove all the files on the host because I’m scared to screw up the other (working) sites. Maybe something interfere with the new website.
I guess I’m overlooking a small thing but I cannot figure out which thing. I’m really puzzled right now.
Your print screens.zip seems to be empty? I can't open it. Did you try to put a simple "/" in Destination Folder?
Did it work with V13?

Strange. I made the zip file with Winrar. I removed Winrar from my pc and made a new zip file with the File Manager. Hope you can read the new zip file.
I have tried to put a "/" in the Destination Folder but had not success.
The website is developed from scratch in v14. I will build a test website in v13 and try if I can upload this.

@A. Kris: I changed the destination folder in /www.debaattrading.nl but again with no luck (error message: Unable to connect to server. Incorrect destination folder).
Taco, please try again with this destination folder
/debaattrading.nl
https://www.whois.com/whois/debaattrading.nl
doing research your domain looks without www.try following the folder /debaattrading.nl and insert in the project in step 1 this url without www.and refer all online.let me know

@ Esahc and A. Kris: Finally it worked. The destination folder had to be \domains\debaattrading.nl\public_html. One problem left with the stock administration of the shop. I will dig in that later.
Thanks both of you for your time and help. I really appreciatie it!
Congratulations on getting it sorted.
