Evolution 14 to slow and buggy Part 2  en

Hello Claudio,

I was finally able to work on my project again. I upgraded the Evolution 14 as you recommended here my observations:

  1. There was no significant improve of speed while saving the file.
  2. Also the preview is still very slow to build up.
  3. All other functions work correct. (this in my case, I don’t have an online shop)
  4. I have multiple large and small galleries that slow down the whole process.

So, saying that here is my opinion about Evolution 14 as it stands: The software has lots features, but for webpages with a blog and multiple galleries it’s still too slow to save.

I found also a bug you guys maybe want look into: if you upload the webpage and lose the connection, the program will give you an error message. However, after that you can’t reconnect despite if the connection has been re-established; the error message appears again and again.  I can’t also close the program. The only way to get out of that is to force the program to close through the Task Manager or go back to Project Selection.

Thank you to look into this

Hello Fabio,

I have similar situation. Bought (some time ago) v13 Pro - too slow to be useful. Recently I bought v14 Pro, the same symptoms, extremely slow preview. Today after spending many hours last days I found that preview sometmes is not working at all- after pressing Preview - nothing happens, processor on minimal load. I found that in such situations preview is available when I switch to another page of project. Editing baner is a total disaster, I'm not keen to wait 3-5mins everytime after making slight changes to header design. My project is relatively big about 2GB, >200 pages, but I was told the size is not a problem - so what is.

Today I finish latest atempt to use v14, coming back to v12 - with less functions (?) but this one is practically useful.

Regards,

Krzysztof

Hello Fabio,

Please try to install the new update and then test the issue you experienced during the export procedure if it is still happening.

Many thanks!

Hello Claudio,

After one test it looks like the problem with the exporting procedure has been resolved. I need to do more testing. I will let you know if the problem appears again.

Now, I think it is time for your tech team to tackle the speed problem as this has not improved at all with any updates.

Thank you

Fabio

The preview issue i found the next thing: If working at the navigation menu the preview doesn't work.

After editing the menu, press the green V-button so the menu is "closed" and also the option of the "Template content" is closed. Start the preview and now you can see the changes.

It's no solution but a work around which works.

Hello L.R. Van Lith,

The developers are already verifying the preview issue to see on what it depends.

Many thanks!

Hello Claudio,

I did more testing in regards of losing the internet connection while uploading the project. Here what I found:

  1. If the connection is lost and I abort the upload the program let me now go back, while clicking the back arrow on the right top, to the "Export" Step. However, after establishing the connection the program is now downloading the whole project; not just the updated pages or the files that were not uploaded before the connection was lost. I only had two files (1 jpeg file and the x5feed.xml file) not uploaded before losing the connection. (I hope I explained myself correctly.) Is that correct?
  2. If the connection is established before aborting the upload, the program will reconnect and upload the rest and the one with an error tag.

Thank you for your reply

Hello Fabio,

If it's interrupted the next time it uploads all files again since the procedure was not concluded correctly. It is correct so since it is not storing partial uploads but to be sure all files are correct online and not partially uploaded it uploads them again.

Many thanks!
