Project folder

Hi I am trying to organize my projects folder so that each folder contains the project. At the moment I can see all my projects in the right had side of the window but nothing in the left side where the folder should be. When I create a folder and name it the program tells me that a folder has already been created? I have approx 11 different projects showing in the right hand side but no folders in the left?

Hello Willliam,
To get the projects in the default folder you must set the folder with the name of the project in the preference folder.
For example:
if your preference folder is: c:\users\computerusername\documents\websitex5 X5 v14 - Professional (this is the standard folder option of x5)
and you want project with name: projectname to be in the project window in x5.
you need to set the folder with projectname inside the preference folder.
so you wil get:
c:\users\computerusername\documents\websitex5 X5 v14 - Professional/projectname
inside that folder you will find: your project file name this will be something like project.iwprj2
I hope this gives you a good view of things.

Hi Andre, I have it set up that way apart from the default path seems different than what you suggest. mine is C:\Users\Billy\Documents\Incomedia\WebSite X5 v14 - Professional. when I open x5 I only have 2 folders at the left hand side but I have 9 projects that I am working on. Some of those projects are not showing even though they are in the main folder. When I try and create a new folder and name it the program will not let me. It informs me that the specified folder already exists.
If you use the pulldown menu and deselect the show product folders then the view is like I described.
If you create seperate folders under the project folder, then you get more folders in x5. But with your amount it is not needed. Are these two folders empty?
If you want them with the other then copy them 1 level higher. start it up see if the works.
But the folder in between (or above) must not be used so if in your folder aragoste is another folder -lets call it folder2- and that folder contains the iwprj file.
then set folder2 under your project folder. It always must be a folder with the projectname in it.
