Break points

Hi, can someone explain how I use the break points in responsive design? I have looked at the help page but this does not help. I see break points and display triangles with numbers but how do I use them?

If you click breakpints (line breaks button), the function is activated by a blue square around the breakpoints buttom.
Where there are lines you can create a breakpoint if you do the next lower resolution will split these objects.
That is all in a nutshell.

Thanks Andre, I will play around with the settings and see what suits best. I know what break points are and what they do but could not understand how to use them in x5.
