Program hangs

when I attempt to open an object it seems to hang for ablut 30-40 seconds.
version 15.1. running the current beta

Hi Barry.
Is your project big in size?
Did this start happening after a certain update? Or maybe on a certain project only?
If you open a new project, does this happen there too? Are you able to verify this for me?
