Will upgrading to V9 disable V8.
I wish to upgrade to the new V9, but I wish to continue to maintain some existing sites using V8 for the foreseeable future.
Can both versions coexist on my PC?

Your site won't work properly. I have already noticed that with myself..
Things made in javascript won't work in flash ... (slideshows and internal popups)
All kind of stuff won't work ... It's no succes.
So do have many pictures in a slideshow or other changing things or popups..?
Both versions can co-exist on your PC and you can actually run both at the same time, they are separate bits of software.
As for your websites, they will need to be changed slightly or tweaked/fixed.

Thanks!
As long as V8 continues to run I can take my time and migrate sites to V9, whilst still being able to maintain those not migrated. I've got LOTS of slideshows and pop-ups, and I suspect the blogs and shopping carts will need a full rebuild :-(
I will copy the existing sites before attempting migration so that the ones in the too hard basket can stay on V8 for as long as necessary.
HI, please have a look at this pdf for furher info on converting www.websitex5.com/v8tov9.
Also note that when you import a v8 project in v9, v9 will automatically duplicate the file, so you don't have any risk of loosing your v8 project.
Anyway be sure to do backup copies

For peace of mind and to keep what little hair I have left, V8 will stay on my PC indefinitely to maintain existing sites. I will not migrate existing sites - my tests to date indicate that I will never be able to guarantee I have picked up every incompatibility. As long as Incomedia don't have a way of stopping V8 from running (& my PC doesn't collapse), I should be fine.
V9 is being used to create new sites as required - so far I have been able to live within the limitations of the new version and have not had to revert to using V8
