I just started using this software one day ago and working on my first project. while working on the main menu in the template style section the software crashed. I made several attempts to restart it and found that I can continue working on other parts of the project but cannot access the main menu anymore without it crashing. is there anything I can do on my end that may fix the problem? Or has anyone else had this problem and be familiar with this issue?

No it sounds strange.
Try to export the project in step 5. Then import the exported project and see if this helps.
Else it might be better to start over again. if you start up x5 twice then you should be able to copy the pages you have made. from to another, but I am not realy shure. Try the first option first.
Copy pages you do with left mouse butten. Don't work too much with two versions cause it tends to give trouble. copy what you need and close the one with problems.

I tried Exporting and importing the file and even made a duplicate to see if anything would work and I got the same results. I may just have to contact tech supp.
Devaris, it may be far quicker to simply start again than wait for Incomedia.
Since you have Evolution, please make regular trips to Step 5 export, export project. These can be renamed if you wish to keep more than one iwzip file (just append date or 01, 02, 03 etc to the filename)
An alternative is to rely on the built in backup (click the down arrow next to save and ensure it is set to backup with each upload to the internet). However, each backup will only be created when you use the built in FTP client and actually upload the site to the internet.
