Facebook Plugin not showing up  en

Hello everyone,

So, I have a new issue that is puzzling me beyond compare.

My client has a facebook page for their company, and wants to have the little like button on the header/ sticky bar, and on certain pages to include the small page plugin.

Now, I added the content, it's there on the page set-up. I preview it on the in-program preview, it's there, works wonderful and fantastic.

However, I go to check it on firefox: nothing shows up. But on Chrome it does.

I then go to show my client: none of their browsers has that plugin show up. None of them.

I even tried Edge but half of the website didn't show up [sidenote: a peculiar result considering that the program does have an Edge button?]

Additionally, when it does work for me, it has a weird glitch where [because I have the likes show up on the header and the sticky bar] both plugins appear at once at the top

Anyone have any ideas?

Hi Melissa.

As far as I am aware, Firefox implements a particular anti tracking feature that has to be manually switched off that sometimes can cause issues with this kind of functionality.

It is weird for Chrome though.

Would it be possible for you to attach screenshots of what exactly you see and eventually provide a test url where to check this project directly?

Let me know

Stefano

Hi Stefano.

I find that a bit counter-productive...why would the program have a feature that can't really be visible depending on which browser you use.

And, I used to use another program for making websites and the fb plugin never had an issue, so I'm not sure if there's something in the plugin's coding that's causing that error.

As for screenshots, the entire point is that they aren't visible, so I'm not sure what to show you...if you'd like to recreate it on your end, please try to insert a random fb plugin onto any page and preview it - then test it on other browsers, I'm certain you will see what the problem is.

And in terms of the glitch, this is what happens:

Where one of the fb plugins is part of the header, and the other is part of the sticky-bar.

Hope you can help.

Just to clarify: I am using the fb plugin included in the program, when I was referring to the other program I meant that I never had an issue with inserting coding for fb related things.

Hi Melissa.

Where you able to test this on the v16 too? Just in case the situation might improve on this specific issue there.

I tested this but wasnt' really able to get the exact same issue you're getting.

I need to ask you, would it be possible for you to send this specific project to me for testing?  I will proceed to turning this topic private so that no information is disclosed to other users.

You can use Wetransfer service (https://wetransfer.com/), or another one of your choice, upload your .iwzip project online, then select "link" and generate the download link that you can post here on Help Center.

Keep me updated

Stefano

Yep, same thing happened...I really don't know what to tell you.

I ended up having to remove it, because it wasn't working at all, so the idea was scrapped.

But I have no idea why it's not causing any issues for you...it should be the same code right?

Hi Melissa.

The only difference I have in mind is the Facebook page. Could it be that it somehow didn't have the permission to share that specific page one external websites, while mine could be?

Can you test that as well?

Keep me posted

Hi Stefano,

I don't think so. This is a public page and I [not the owner of the fb page] can view it just fine, but my client, who is the owner of the fb page, cannot see it.

Hi Melissa,

I might have missed that part, but isn't there any test URL you can share with me so that I might test it directly online on your website?

This way, it might be easier to identify a possible issue

Thank you

Stefano

Hi Melissa.

If possible, could you share with me the URL to your website, for testing, as well as the URL to the Facebook page you're trying to link?

This way, I could test directly on your website and with the mentioned page.

Keep me posted

Thank you

Stefano
