Downgrade projects of version 16.0.3 to version 15.2.3  en

Hello,

is there a way to downgrade projects edited with WebSite x5 version 16.0.3 to the previous version 15.2.3? Any hint would be very helpful to me, because a lot of work was done to a project in version 15.2.3 that was finally opened with the new version 16.0.3. The project in version 16.0.3 now cannot be published/released - according to an issue with the stickybar (menu in stickybar). I recognized too late, that projects edited and saved with version 16.0.3 are officially not downward compatible to version 15.2.3.

Regards,

Stephan

Stephan, sadly v16 projects can not be opened in v15.

Incomedia is aware of this problem and I am sure there will be an update very soon to fix the problem.

I have marked your post for attention by Incomedia, hopefully they will be able to advise if the beta chanel has an interim reslease which would mean you could publish more quickly.

Good luck.

It continues to amaze me that many users only have ONECOPY of their project saved at any particular time. I just don’t get it.

When I am finished with a website, for example, I save the completed site inside a folder called Website-X5-V.15.2.3. I do not save .iwzip files in this folder. Instead, I save the entire X5 folder for that site inside that folder.

Next, I copy the Website-X5-V.15.2.3 folder to at least 2 other hard drives. Therefore, I always have folders that l can open with confidence in a newer version of the software. I absolutely know I can go back to a previous state if something gets screwed up in the newer version.

It’s simple. It takes a couple of minutes. But it will save you dozens of hours or days of work if something goes wrong.

Myron - I personally highly recommed iwzip (export project). It is robust, reliable and has been since about v10. It also has one nice additional feature that your procedure can overlook. All required files used in the project are included even if they are stored outside of the project folder.

As for Stephan's current problem, he has obviously done a great deal of work. V16 has a bug in the stickybar. It would not matter how many backups or copies he had, WX5 v16 generates a faulty stickybar. This time it is not a faulty project it is a faulty program.
