When changing the text on one template webpage it changes the text on all the pages, I cannot find a way of stopping it, please advise.

The template applies to all pages, changing the template affects the whole homepage. Content in a page is recorded in Sitemap on the corresponding page.

as JJ.Juag suggested, the changes done on the template affect the whole website. Please provide me with more information about what you need to edit on a page only, so I can tell you how to proceed.
