Current page colour nor showing on live site  en

I am a new user built have managed to convert a couple of very large and old websites I developed on Frontpage a decade ago OK without too much problem.

However, I have a menu issue. When I set the mouseover colour and the current page colour in the menu object panel it all works OK in the X5 preview.

When I view this on my live site through Firefox, Chrome on Windows 10 and Android on my smartphone, the mouseover colour works fine but the Current Page colour is completely missing.

Any ideas why as I've tring to sort this out for lat two days with no success and it's now my last issue to resolve.

Chris

If it works then it is ok.

Press after upload F5 in your browser to load the latest changes. If it still does not work just wait a while some providers take time to reload the changes.

Unforntunately, it did work now it has stopped again. Yes, I have cleared out caches and checked on several brousers etc. I can't figure out what could be a cause that is under author control.

Hi C.

It looks weird indeed that it would sometimes work and sometimes not.

Would it be possible for you to share a couple screenshots showing the way the "Current page" voice menu was customized inside the software?

Maybe from there we might understand whether an actual configuration error of the menu has been produced.

Keep me posted

Thank you

Stefano

This link no longer works http://www.myhouseextension.com/mhe-master/onestorey/index.html and if I go here http://www.myhouseextension.com there is no menu.

Is it possible you are changing the settings on the toaster menu dropdown? If so, with the online version make your browser narrower or wider to change how the menu is displayed (toaster or text), when you click does the toaster give the correct result?

If this is not the cause, when uploading, try select full upload rather than new and changed, or as a test, load into another folder and see if it works, this will identify if any legacy files are causing the issue.

Sorry - look here: http://www.myhouseextension.com/twostorey/

I am using the hamburger menu and everything looks good on the preview but the selected colouring of the current page does not show on the live site - mouseover colour is fine which is what is weird for me.

I'll try creating a completely new site and see if it is the same.

I have just created a a new test site using the the Blank template and uploaded it to our server. The current page is correct on the X% preview but not showing on the live site. THis test was with Firefox on W10.

Chris, the problem is your website address.

For the current page highlight to work when on line, the website address and the actual address must be the same.

So, if you are uploading to a directory inside the public_html folder called test on the server, the URL in WX5 must be changed eg http://www.mywebsite.com/test

(my apologies for taking so long to remember)

Excellent! As you say, this was the problem. Putting in an accurate web address has sorted the problem.

Maybe this is a naive question but what is the technical reason for that - I guess the need for cookie to remeber the state? This never occured to me but it is obvious really.

Anyway all working now so I'm pleased!

Thanks for the help.

Chris
