Template Recommendation Based On Current Websites?  en

Hi,

I bought X5 quite some time ago. I'm having trouble figuring out how to setup a new template based on the current sites I have setup.

Is there a preconfigured template that looks like these two sites or could I please get help on how to setup a new template using my original graphics already formatted? I have read the guide but still not wrapping my head around everything.

The sites are:

tvpmm.com

tvpmmvault.com

Thank you very much and Happy Holidays!

Regards,

Terry

Terry, if these sites were created with WX5 it would be a simple matter to export from the old version and import to the new version complete with existing template. Unfortunately on the face of it this does not appear to be the case (EZGenerator 4.4.0.4)?

WX5 cannot import from other sources, even websites generated by WX5 cannot be imported (please make frequent use of step 5 export, export project and rename to keep multiple versions)

If I was in this position I would create a new website with a totally new look and feel.

However, to recreate it I would carefully measure the existing components (eg header depth, footer depth, page width, etc) and  open a blank template (blank1). Initially I would create a desktop site (not responsive) to minimise the work (step 2 template, resolutions and responsive designs and also set the width). Then step2 template, template structure. Here you set the dimensions and place wallpapers, desktop background, colours, etc)

You can then move on the template content followed by page content. The columns can be sized as in the original site and then objects can be placed as required with content copied and pasted from the online site.

When your WX5 site bears a strong resemblance to the old site you could publish it to the web and then you can return to step 2 template, resolutions and responsive designs, turn on responsive and repeat the above steps for every required resolution.

If you have not worked with WX5 much before then the initial learning curve will be very steep, but you will be surprised how easy it becomes very quickly. I did a quick browse of your sites and see nothing that can not be reproduced without much effort.

Good luck!!

Esahc, websites generated by WX5 could be imported from html/php files by many html/php editors, for example Polish Pajączek.

No, but there is no problem for next changes in this and other programms that use html/php files. I just wonder if in such way we (or your customers) could use cms programms for next changes in website. But i didn't find the right one.

Hi Andrzej,

As pointed out by Esahc, a WebSiteX5 project can be edited only in the correct software. There is no way to import an already generated site in it.

Of course at the end of the exportation, the software will create HTML and PHP files which can be edited with many other softwares, but won't be reimportable inside WebSite. The software can only work with its own project files

Hope I've made the matter clearer

Thank you

Stefano
