Automatic Full Page Slider in WSX5 Ptoject problem  en

Author: Tom G.

This question is directed to WSX5 users, not to Incomedia.

I hope, that our users will be able to help me...

In attached project, I created page named SlideShow, which I am using in <iframe> on the main page called TEST-1.

If you preview the SlideShow or TEST-1 within the software, all works fine, as I wanted to. The problem is when trying to run either page from the Preview folder generated by WSX5. All images are in Preview/images, js and css files are in Preview/files. But it simply doesn’t work!

Can anyone figure out why?

Tom, if the iwzip will not attach it is simply too big. You could use WeTransfer.com if it is no larger than 2gb, just upload it and provide the link here.

It sounds like your slider requires support files which would be available on your host but not your PC. WX5 does a pretty good job at providing support for all features with the preview, so if it works in preview correctly it will almost certainly work when online.

You were right, Esahc! smile My .iwzip file was too big - almost 3MB.

I re-did the whole project so that now is smaller than 1MB.

See attached.

Again: why it works within WSX5 in preview, but not when started from Preview folder generated by the software?

Tom, I can confirm that this is the case but can only assume that  the answer is as I have already stated.

To run the site locally you require support files as would be available on any hosting service (and within WX5)

Thank you, Esahc! I will try to upload it to the server and test there. Will let you know.

Tom, you are correct.

I can not find any code defining the images or actions. Did you previously have code associated with the slideshow page?

This is the only code on the slideshow page at this time

If I had to guess I would reckon you defined a slide show in html and for reasons I do not understand WX5 still has access to it in the xml file, but the current project no longer includes the code (if it did I could copy the slideshow page and the home page and copy and paste to achieve the same end result, I tried, I can not)

You need to add the slideshow code to the slideshow page (or simply use an optional object to achieve the same result?)

Tom, I have browsed optional objects. JSSOR Slider (slideshows) seems to work for v17 (I believe it is free), why not simply use that and then there will be no issue with 3rd party code?

(& it should work locally)

Thank you, KolAsim, for looking into my problem!

But if you run my AutoSlider.iwzip attached above in one of my responses, it works fine. The images are inPreview/images folder of the project.

in "Statistics, SEO and Code":

Or there is something more to it?...

You were right! In .css file, the address for images was /images/*.jpg, and is supposed to be ../images/*.jpg.

Thanks, KolAsim!
