Thanks for the files. You should export the project as iwzip on the XP PC and then reimport it in the same PC. This will fix the path issues.

Then, export again the iwzip and move it to the W7 PC.

This will fix the images issues.

Ok, I checked the file on the XP pc is 100% correct, I then exported it on the XP pc and then imported it, then I checked it was ok and exported it again - just as you said.

I then imported it onto my Windows 7 (64 bit) pc and all the links have been lost. To explain, the pictures in actual picture boxes are still linked, but the pictures placed into text boxes have all been lost - this is the same as before

Ideas please ...

What happens if you do a CTRL+Preview on the XP PC? Do you still see the images?

Ok, I did what you said and everything is ok. However, I have just closed it and moved all my original folders leaving only the newly created folder in place, then I re opened the file and the links have been lost, still only the links to pics placed within text, the pics in pic boxes are ok. So, it now seems it is nothing to do with W7. I have also looked in the newly created folder and all the pictures are there, it is just that the links to them have been lost !!! So it is the export/import process that is still not working. Which means this is not a new problem, it is simply the old problem that still doesn't work

We fixed that issue in 9.0.3. I think your project file was just not updated in its structure (that can happen in case of a path is still containing the double slash).

I've sent you via email the fixed project file (without double slashes).

On my W7 pc, I replaced the original project file with the new one you emailed me, but still do not have any of the pictures.

On my XP pc, I replaced the original project file and exported it, then imported it onto my W7 pc, but still do not have the pictures.

However, I have just had a good look through my previous exported project and found there are a few pics that do actually appear (just a couple) and when I view the page source info it shows a different string of code for these pics.

Pics that DO appear have this type of code:

Pics that DO NOT appear have this type of code:

<img src="C://Documents and Settings//nashd//My Documents//Websites//Nkuruba//Nkuruba 3-12-11//kemigisa-naume.jpg"

The link that does not work, is still pointing to where the pictures were on my original pc, it is not pointing to the new folder that has been created on my laptop, hence why the pictures are being lost.

Not sure if this helps, but also not sure why there would be this difference.

The pictures that are not shown, are linked to the folder C:\Documents and Settings\nashd\My Documents\Nkuruba Website\

Did you rename that folder on the original PC before exporting the site to iwzip?

Remember that if you move a picture to a folder to another (just like when you rename the folder where the picture is), you have to reimport it into the software. It's the same as version 8.

No, those images are in the same folders they have always been in, they have not been renamed recently, however, where I had archived folders I have always had to reimport the missing individual images, so they are all correct and current.

I have (many times) exported the website on the XP pc and imported back into the software, thus the images should all be located within the newly formed folder, which they are, but I am guessing now that eventhough the images are sitting in the new folder, the software still links to where they were originally, which means it is not updating its links when exporting/importing ;o(

This makes me think that when the project was first exported, those images were not reachable:

1. They were moved before or
2. An antivirus was locking them

If you relink those images now, I'm sure the software will export them. Just make sure you're using the latest version of WSX5 (9.0.6).

1. If the picture is showing in the cell, does that mean it is attached properly?

2. If the picture is showing in the cell and also shows in the preview, does that mean it is attached properly?

3. If not - can you tell me how I find out whether a picture is attached (reachable)?

Yes. If you see it, the software can load it.

Yes. You can double check this by clicking CTRL+Preview to force the software to reload it.

Then that doesnt make sense, as you have said that I must have missing pictures, that is why when I export/import there are missing images. But on my current XP pc everything is in its cell, on the preview and uploads to my site ... but when I export/import it loses all its links in the newly created file.

If this makes sense, then surely it would be a waste of time reimporting all my images again, if as you say, according to your answers above (and I can see the images) that they are all there.

So, surely my current XP pc file is ok. If you actually make a basic site with images in text boxes and export and then import it onto a different pc, you must have the same result ... lost links???

If not, maybe I can send you an exported project of one of my smaller sites for you to import?

If possible, send me the exported project but first, I suggest to check this issue with another project.

Just make a small project, put an image in it and export it to W7. If it doesn't work send it to me.

We have tested this feature so many times and since 9.0.2 we never had this issue on XP.

Urgent. That is a real big problem!

This was exportet from 1775; the image was within a normal text layout.

The projects was also started with 1775, so this is no conversion error.

Are you sure the image is always accessible by the software? If the path of the image is in the html file, it means that it was not accessible when the page was being built.

Was the project started with v9.0.0 or 9.0.2?

it was the latest version, 9.0.6.1775.

all images are on the C drive

in folders without spaces and special-chars

we checked it: bothimages show up in the preview. when uploading: poth images have a local path in the src= element as before.

the locations of the image on the local harddisk is correct.

strange: when pressing strg-preview: both images are still shown in the preview, when uploading 1 image still has the wrong path (local path) in the src-field, but the other images was online with the correct src= path...

The described issue makes me think about a slightly corrupted project. Have you already tried to remove and insert again those images?

What about loading those images from another folder named differently (without the underscore char)?

you know about the problem above..i have this too....

it isn´t a user-problem - it is a software-problem....the software doesn´t produce the correct html-files - sometimes...

i had this problem today two times - i only copied text-cell (with image) to another page - in the old place the image was gone...you know this for month...please change this big problem in the software....greetz laszlo

I see this problem but we were not able to reproduce it on our PCs. This doesn't seem to be a systemic bug because it happens on a different behavior on different PCs.

What we are doing now is to try to figure out what exactly happens when this issue comes out. This becomes harder when you can't reproduce the problem on your local machine.

I've asked Deltens to try changing the path of the images to be sure it isn't a permissions problem nor a folder's name related issue.

how would it be to become a little program from you to make a "protocol" of evo9 while it prepares the project? so we can send this to you when the problem exists (it is "only" sometimes) in the project?

this problem with C://....is for me really the only one - but it is a big!

We are thinking about that. To me, it is like the software can read the images when they're added to the project but not when they are edited and uploaded.

We're working on it to figure out when and why this happens.

i´m always looking to find the reason too...

the last time there were image gone in a page, which wasn´t edited .... but it was marked in the program, so when i open the page in evo9 it has the mark because it was the last cell in this page visited in evo9...but it was uploading without changes in the cell or in the page....

i hope you understand what i mean - screenshot for example is there....

it would be very very helpfull when this will be fixed....

today i´ve lost again one image-path - this cell wasn´t touched - in all images are, when they´re gone the link in it correct (bad english i think)...ok: most of my images have a linke to another page in my website, when the image is gone (the path is C://...), the link is still in function....

the last lost image was from a page with not so many cells...see screen

i have only this project where i add daily content - i can´t say this about other smaller projects....sorry

i thought to start a new project, and copy the pages from the existing to the new - because my project was imported last year from evo8 - but noemi said, it´s not sure that this problem is then gone.........so i didn´t started.....

Copying the pages from a project to another should, at least, reduce the issue. You can copy and paste the pages directly from step 2 in a single try. Just select all the pages and copy/paste them in a new project. It's really fast.

yes - i did - but the image was lost in a cell, which i didn´t touched....

Was it the one you copied?

no - i cut/paste cell-objects...

but the cell with the missed image-path wasn´t copied or cut or something else....

actually after the latest update it seems to be fixed....very fine...i hope it stays...

but: i can´t insert images with letters in the filename like ü, ä ...i have to change them to ue or ae...then the image is schowing...can you fix this problem please? greetz...laszlo

Actually we had to filter those chars because they were leading some PCs to not save correctly the project file. We'll enable support for those chars only if possible.

screenshot nearby, it only happened one time - just want to inform you - after opening the cell with the wrong path and clicking on ok all was ok....
