CART BUY NOW BUTTON QUESTION
Author: DENNIS S.I'm using Website Creator 12
I found this while looking for an answer in the discussions > I am using Website X5 Pro 2019.2.7. In January 2020 Stefano G wrote that in version 2019 "you can decide to let the customer receive the confirmation email only after he's paid for his order directly after creating it on your website. This way, the button will no longer be presented in the email." How do I do this? I can't find any setting in the Shopping Cart area. (My website url is booksforlife.today.)
1. Is the above still true for Version 12?
2. I tested the button on the confirmation page, but it didn't go thru because I was using my own card and information.
So, the way it is set up it looks like the payment is made from the confirmation email ... correct? If yes, the only way they can make payment is if I use the database ... correct?
In my case with Version 12, wouldn't it be much easier for me to eliminate the cart and just put insert PayPal buy now buttons on the products page? Does anyone know if this will work?
Once again, thanks to all that help out in this discussion area.
Hello.
"I'm using Website Creator 12" - you probably mean "Website X5 12".
"How do I do this? I can't find any setting in the Shopping Cart area. (My website url is booksforlife.today.)" - try this:
"1. Is the above still true for Version 12?" - no.
" I tested the button on the confirmation page, but it didn't go thru" - in the 12th version of the program, it seems, there was no such option. What does it mean: "because I was using my own card and information."?
"So, the way it is set up it looks like the payment is made from the confirmation email ... correct? If yes, the only way they can make payment is if I use the database ... correct?" - as far as I remember, you are right for the 12th version.
"In my case with Version 12, wouldn't it be much easier for me to eliminate the cart and just put insert PayPal buy now buttons on the products page? Does anyone know if this will work?" - the visitor will be able to make payment, but this is not convenient, since the visitor himself will have to write product amount. Plus, you will not receive a notification about which product was purchased. Unless make the visitor write to you about it.
Dennis, I have an old version of a website in v12 (pro) with a shop. It never had a database attached, but it worked fine sending a receipt and separate confirmation email. This was set in step 4 Advanced, Shopping Cart with the options of pay on completion and pay later.
As Aleksej says, in v12 you could not delay sending the receipt until after payment, this came a number of versions later but still only applies to electronic (instant download) products.
Please seriously consider moving to the latest version if you intend to set up a shop, there were issues with paypal after paypal changed the rules and I have a vague recollection v12 was affected by this. With the latest version you will also get full support, Incomedia cannot assist with v12.

Where can I find a comparison of V12 versus pro. I do like this software and I want to see what I'm missing with the pro version and what it costs to upgrade.

I accidentally hit the post button on my last post. Please disregard those questions. I have found where I can upgrade to the Pro and I'm going to do that but I have one question.
I already built my sites in Evolution 12 ... so when I buy and download the pro version ...
Just want to make sure.
1. Will it override the Evolution 12 that I have in my system and make it go away?
2. Will I be able to import what I've already built in version 12?
Please advise
Dennis

The current version will install separately (you can continue to use both)
You simply need to create an iwzip (step 5 export project) in your old project and open the new version then select import to bring your project up to date.
Please confirm that you are looking at v2019.3 and not v12 pro (this would not be good).
Whilst the pro version is the best, the Evo version is no slouch and the cost is not as high, v2019.3 evo will import v12 evo. You could purchase Evo and if it is not acceptable get a refund (within 30 days) and then purchase Pro. V2019.3
Pro can read and update v12 evo or v2019.3 evo

If you go to the above link you will see price variations and rudimentary feature list comparison, you may wish to visit the live chat/messaging to see if various features you require are present, until recently it was easy to find a comparison but I am stuggling to find it at the moment (which is a bit frustrating :-(
Enjoy
