Hello Errol,

With respect to your first two questions, the help file provides the following info:

Use Passive FTP: this is active by default, and it means that passive FTP is used for exporting projects. It guarantees greater connection compatibility with the server.

Enable gzip compression: this is active by default, and means that the project files are compressed during the export procedure, so reducing export times.

As regards replacing your current project with a different one...  uploading a different WebSite X5 project to the same folder/directory on the server will overwrite the original project.  However, to avoid unexpected issues it would be best to first delete all files and folders belonging to the original project from the server.

Kind regards,

Paul
