E-mail problems via the contact form  en

Hi All,

I am looking for some help with a problem I have with emails via the contact form. I have X5 Evo 2020.2.5. The PHP version on the server is 7.2. I have set up the contact form as below:

The problem that I have is that I have set up for emails sent to an email address via the website to the server to be forwarded to my personal email address, if I send an email from my email client (Outlook) direct not via the website it is forwarded to me OK. However, if I send an email via the website, it arrives on the server OK and can be viewed but it is not forwarded to my personal email address.

I have tried the various settings in relation to E-mail form script type, but it does not make any difference. Despite changing the settings in the Contact Form Object send box, I cannot get emails sent via the website forwarded to my personal email address. At the moment I am unsure as to whether it is an X5 issue or an issue at the server end, I have contacted the hosting company for their input and am awaiting their feedback.

In the meantime, I was wondering if any of the forum users have encountered this problem.

Any help or advice is appreciated.

Jim

Olá, Jim...

Não sei se entendi corretamente sua dúvida, mas você tem duas formas de fazer isso:

- Coloque as contas dos emails que deseja receber a mensagem que for enviada pelo form do site, Ex.: email1@domínio1.com; email2@domínio2.com; etc. Dessa maneira, vai receber a mensagem do visitante nos  emails indicados;

- Coloque apenas um email no campo e, no seu CPANEL de hospedagem, na área de configurações de emails, faça um redirecionamento do email que usou para receber no seu form do site para os outros emails que também deseja receber.

Espero ter ajudado.

abraço.

Hi Jim ...

I don't know if I understand your question correctly, but you have two ways to do this:

- Place the email accounts that you want to receive the message that is sent by the website form, Ex .: email1@domínio1.com; ***; etc. This way, you will receive the visitor's message in the indicated emails;

- Put just one email in the field and, in your hosting CPANEL, in the email settings area, redirect the email you used to receive on your website form to the other emails you also want to receive.

Hope this helps.

hugs.

Hi LUIZ.G,

Thank you for your prompt feedback.

I have a website at www.naphillvillagehall.org.uk with contact forms on it where the visitor would complete the form and send it via the website, the website sends a confirmation back to the visitor. The visitor’s email is then sent to my hosting’s server and appears there OK. I have set up the email on the server to forward the visitors email to my personal email address, which for some reason does not happen.

If I send an email direct from my email client (Outlook), not via the website to the hosting email server that email is forwarded to my personal email, address OK.

To understand what I wish to do have a look at www.naphillvillagehall.org.uk

  1. Select contact us
  2. Select address and contact details
  3. Select Fundraising click here
  4. Enter the necessary information (make it up as you want)
  5. Select send

Your email will appear on the hosting server i.e. fundraisingatnaphillvillagehall.org.uk

I have set up forwarding on this email address, but for some reason emails sent via the website are not being forwarded to my personal email address. This has worked OK in the past but not now.

Hope that this helps explain what I want to achieve.

Many thanks,

Jim

Recebi a mensagem de que minha mensagem foi encaminhada com sucesso! Aparentemente, está tudo bem. Já tentou colocar outra conta de email para saber se o problema não seria SPAM ou erro de encaminhamento?

Hi LUIZ.G,

Thank you for your test email:

which was received OK at fundraisingatnaphillvillagehall.org.uk and can be viewed OK on the hosting email server. However the problem is that the hosting email server for this address is set up to forward these emails to a different email address at a different ISP and for some reason emails sent via the website are not forwarded but emails sent direct (not via the website) are forwarded OK, I am beginning to think that it is a server issue rather than an X5 problem.

I will try some other tests tomorrow and let you know the outcome.

Thank you for all your help so far.

Jim

Sim... è o que está parecendo. Por que não tenta colocar os dois emails que deseja receber direto no WS X5?

Basta separar os emails por ";" que o WS X5 envia para todos de uma vez só.

Feedback translation:

Yes ... that's what it looks like. Why not try to put the two emails you want to receive directly into WS X5?

Just separate emails by ";" that WS X5 sends to everyone at once.

Hi LUIZ.G,

Thank you for your further feedback, I could use your suggestion by adding the other email address, however as this address is a personal one, if added as per your suggestion it would appear on the confirmation email sent to the website user.

I have contacted the hosting service and it looks like a problem at their end, so I will now close this post.

Many thanks for all your help.

Jim
