With the new update for paypal payments I'm unsure what the update is supposed to do? Can't seem to get it to work? Can I get an explanation of it's functions and how to implement.

Thanks

Dennis

In my case - PayPal is still useless like before...

I can't use this new paypal system. It's exactly what I needed until you placed the pay later button into the system. I sell downloadable items and if they click Pay Later and download the product, I don't get paid.

I need Pay Now only ... Is there a way to remove the Pay Later option for the buyer?

Also, when I tested it, it went to my disapproved page instead of the my order success page? Maybe because I used my own credit card?

Did you test to ensure it was going to the correct accepted page when the order is approved?

Please advise

Now, I just got a message from PayPal asking me to Pay for the item. I thought the item would be paid for immediately with this new paypal system. Again, if it is not paid for when they click the buy button in the cart, then it can not be used for my digital products unless I'm doing something wrong?

Hello Dennis

I believe there might be some confusion here

Were you able to create your Paypal business account correctly?

Is the software reporting that it has been connected fine here?

Did you set the Ecommerce to send the summary email AFTER the payment and not before?

if you're being redirected to the Error page when clicking on the button, did you set the correct URL to your page in Step 5? If the URL doesn't match your online hosting space exactly, it won't work

Verify all of this and keep me posted here

Thank you

Stefano

Stefano,

OK, I may be getting closer to getting this to work properly?

Can this work if I choose not to use a database like your image suggests?

I'm using Send Data by Email

Here's a few images of what I'm seeing right now after a test payment.

Oops looks like I can only attach one image at a time. Will attach more below

Also, what happens when I refund the order? See my image below.

As you can see I have no idea who placed the order. No names in PayPal and never received an email from PayPal who placed the order?

Please advise

Hello Dennis

yes you must be using a Database and not the email in order to trigger some functionalities such as being able to let the user received the email with the digital product directly.

In general, it is much better to make use of that system rather than email if you're planning on handling purchases this way

Can you try and integrate a Database with this and let me know if the situation improves?

Thank you

Stefano

Stefano,

Thanks for the feedback. Now I know it's not feasible for me to use the system. It is much easier just using the PayPal direct buy now buttons or paypal cart system. Nevertheless, thanks for all your help and I still really like your product.

Dennis, what makes it "not feasible" for you? Just curious.

Much simpler to just put the paypal buttons on the webpages. Then it's instant notification of purchase and also don't need a database. More direct, faster, more user friendly, more flexible.

Dennis, when you say "paypal buttons," are you referring to those that are generated directly within the PayPal website? Please confirm.
