I just purchased Websitex5 Pro and noticed that the image does not automatically resize to fit the cell size as mentioned in documentation. See the screenshot below:

Craig. Assuming you are using the image object then WX5 does resize automatically, but it does not crop automatically to change the proportions of the image. You can do this by clicking on edit.

Thanks. I did try to crop but there is a bug where it transposes the numbers I type into crop.

Hi the images resize two images side by side must have the same ratio.

Thanks. Haven't had any luck with the 'ratio' selection under edit. Another web design package solves this simply by hiding the edges of the image that you add. So if the space is 4:3 but you insert 4:7 it simply hides the edges or blows it up until the edges are hidden if needed. Another package I used to use, had an even simpler approach of just adding in a coloured background if the image did not fill the space.

hi, I usually prepare the images before uploading them to the website, I do not use the program for this, because it is limited. wink

I think what is happening is each row height is resizing to fit the image, not the other way around.

That was my understanding based on the documentation, that it would automatically resize to match the image object. Although, I'm not sure where you set the image object size. But so far, instead it seems to resize to match the image instead.

Hello Craig

By just looking at the example you inserted in your first post, I believe there might be a misunderstanding in how this works.

The software will automatically adapt the image in size width-wise. The height of the image and ratio are the factors that will determine the type of resizing the image will get. In short, if you want two images to match their heights side by side, they must match in this sense

Please verify this as well and keep me posted here

Thank you

Stefano

Thanks for coming back to me. I did not know that it only adjusts width-wise. May I then suggest for future development of W5 the following:

Another web design package solves the image ratio problem 'virtually' by hiding the edges of the image that you add (sort of a 'mask' with a specific ratio). So if the space is 4:3 but you insert 4:7 it simply hides the edges or blows it up until the edges are hidden as needed. In that way images in the same row (on a 'card' or 'section') are the same height and width.

Thanks, I'm aware of IrfanView and other graphics programs that can do this... it is just that it is very tedious to do it this way. I was hoping for something more automated, along the lines of other software I've seen.
