Unable to save website  en

I get an error message when I try to save my project "Logistics"

"The project could not be saved

Access to the path is denied"

Given that I was able to open the Project OK, why cannot I save it?

I notice that the latest Website X5 update referred to 'solving a file save issue'

Well it hasn't for me!

Hello Bill,

When you open a WebSite X5 project you are reading files...   when you attempt to save a project you are writing files...  these two different operations require different permissions within your system.

Are you running WebSite X5 as an 'administrator' in Windows with elevated privileges?  If not then log on as a user with full admin rights and start WebSite X5 by right-clicking on the program file and selecting 'Run as administrator'.

Antivirus software has been known to interfere with WebSite X5 file operations.  Are you using any third party software such as this?  If so, then you should be able to 'whitelist' WebSite X5 in the settings.

Kind regards,

Paul

Thanks for your help

"The project could not be saved Access to the path is denied" error appears to be caused by Dropbox

When I moved the website data out of Dropbox (& restored from backup) the problem dissapeared

Note I was merely saving my project - nothing to do with uploading to on-line

Thanks for the update, Bill.

We've seen this issue with Dropbox before...  glad it's now resolved.

All the best with your project.
