Contact Form Working but not correctly  en

This is an odd one:

I have had this website set up for about 4 years and had no issues at all. The problem now is that the driver submission form is set to send an email out to us from: *** please see photo of settings.

Now when the email comes in it actually say's its from the email address the customer has put in the email address field while filling out the form. This is deffo not suposed to happen.

Emails from that address are forwarded to our gmail address and come in like this:

from:***

to:***
date:16 Dec 2020, 16:19

subject:Contact from Derbyshire Motorhome Hire

The from above should be from our own *** address.

This is causing Gmail to pick the messages up as spam.

also just to throw this in to the mix in some cases it sends and nothing is recieved anywhere. I have spent hrs on this now and I have tried all mannor of settings. The php is on ver 7.2 and i have tried it all the way up to 8 and still no joy.

I have also filled out the always send from this adderss in the data management part.

Hello Peter,

Peter H.
Now when the email comes in it actually say's its from the email address the customer has put in the email address field while filling out the form. This is deffo not suposed to happen.

This is because you've specified in the form settings that the 'Sender e-mail address' should be the email address that the user has entered in your form:

If you don't want this to happen then deselect that option (highlighted in the red rectangle above).

I have also filled out the always send from this adderss in the data management part.

What email address have you specified there?  The Gmail one, or the one from your own domain?

Kind regards,

Paul

Hi Paul

As normal when you spend hrs doing something you tend to make mistakes, I ended up missing out the "e" in the enquiries address on the form, all is working now sorry and again thanks for your support.
