2nd time in 2 days on different websites I've had this error message about access to page paths.

I'm trying to change survey questions on a questiannire and I get this message.

Yesterday I tried to change the setup of a website and it didn't work and I had to build a new one from scratch.

That is a very unusual message. A little bit more info might be usefull,

anyway,

Are you working from standard pc?
see that you have admin rights.

Are you correcting page paths or folders yourself on your pc?

can a firewall or virusscanner intervene?

Run the program as admin (right button click of mouse) see if it thens works better.

I assume you work on/from a harddrive built in? or do you use a remote drive?

on the website x5 start up icon (i guess on your desktop) click right mouse button and then execute as admin.

Working on external drive could also be a reason try to do all the work on same drive preferably the built in drive.

On some systems the documents folder is in one drive. This can cause this issue as well.

It was saving in the one drive. (not that as any point did I agree to this - THANKS WINDOWS 10!)

I've turned it off and tried to login as admin. Won't let me, same issue message.

I had it stored in an external drive and well, it won't let me save to internal hard drive.

Any ideas? Thanks folks

That's just works best.

Same here and on a site with only two pages, but it happens on multiple sites.. I tihink it came with an update, as there were years no problems (also not at other usres) and now i read multiple problems here in the forum..
Sometimes you can solve the problem by opening (or if you had it open) go to a Windows explorere and navigate to the folder where you store your site(s).

Then go back to WSX5 and click the button [ Retry ]. some times this helps...but the problem is realy a pain in the @ss..

Has there been any changes in the path location in the last update, can you help out maybe in why this seems to be occuring?

Hello Graeme

The error message that is presented indicates an exact issue that the software is encountering when attempting to save/edit some project files.

This specific error is not generated by WebSite X5 specifically. The software is simply reporting that, when trying to perform changes to a specific project file, something else is already operating on the same file, thus keeping it locked.

This "something" can be Windows itself, a third-party software, or whatever other software which is performing operations on the same files.

Please try to disable all programs that might interfere with these files and try again

Keep me posted here

Thank you

Stefano

Graeme, you say that your projects were in user/yourname/onedrive/documents, if this is still the case I suggest moving all projects to user.yourname/documents and changing the default location in WX5 setup on startup.

Recent experience with onedrive indicates that if files were synchronising with onedrive, then even if not logged in, some file permissions remain locked.
