How to add items to the database so that it cannot be purchased when stock status is zero.

I have created a database on my one.com server, but how do I tell the server that there are a number of items to sell?

When I go in and define that there are, for example, 3 locomotives on my site ravnsbybanen.dk. Then it says 0, how do I get told that there may actually be 3 pcs.
It's hard to explain, so I hope there are some who can understand it..and maybe explain it to me too

I am stuck !

When I try to create an item with available quantity.
Then the program writes back:
Enable Send Data to Database Before Configuring an Available Product Number "

This is where I'm stuck ..

Where do I fix it all?

I have been inside and created a database, and it is also in contact with it when I upload the page to the web. At least it does not report errors ..

Then there is a place I need to activate "Send to Database" before I create an item with quantity for sale
