Try not to use blanks in the project name or location. If then with "_" !

Thanks Andreas. I will try that.

How do I restore an exported project back onto my computer?

If you mean an exported to the Internet, then you can not import it again!

You can only save a project if you have either made a "real" backup (export project) which you can import again, or if you have a complete project folder that you can eventually start. If your project is corrupted you have to check if you have a backup file in the backup folder!

No. I was trying to export to a USB drive. So I was exporting a v4.5 project to a USB drive.

This is a working project which I have been actively building for a few weeks now. It works in WebsiteX5 and on the internet. So nothing is corrupt that I am aware of. I also have multiple backups but with so many changes to the project everyday, I would be missing pieces for sure if I had to go back.

Fortunely, I don't think I need the backup for this reason and frankly, if the main project file is corrupted, so to would the multiple backups be since at least yesterday.  That is about 10 hours of work that I put in to get it to where I am. A lot more if we went back more days in the backup succession.

Gregory, please regularly go to step 5 and export project to create an iwzip file. This is the only true backup. It should exclude backup and preview. It can be renamed (I append date), and it can be saved to USB. This is the only true backup.

Export website to local hd! USB is sometimes too slow ( which is why working off USB can cause faults).

An exported website cannot be opened in WX5, only an exported project (iwzip).

Thanks Esahc. This is all new to me.

I have dozens of .iwprj2 files.  What is the difference between an iwzip and the iwprj2 file.

An iwzip DAtei is a complete project with all files and scripts! You can also see in the size of the file!
An iwprj is only a processing file where the files are re-read from the project folder and program folder!

As Andreas said, iwprj2 is only one of many files and folders necessary to open a project. I create a new iwzip after every major editting session.

There is also a built in backup system, but this cannot be relied upon in case of catastrophe.

Iwzip is bullet proof (especially if copied off the hard disks).
