Isn't the m4v video format an Apple format? In any case, it is not a web format for browsers!

A file with the.m4v file extension is an MPEG-4 Video (M4V) container file format.  The net says that the M4V file format is a video container format developed by Apple and is very similar to the MP4 format. The primary difference is that M4V files may optionally be protected by DRM copy protection. Apple uses M4V to encode video files in its iTunes Store. It also appears to be a compressed mp4 file, although I have not seen anythng that definitely says so. Firefox can play m4V files. I believe other brosers can too.

KolAsim, I tried to play the .m4v with Chrome, Edge and Safari browsers. All of these additional browsers can play the file no problem.  So if the criteria for file formats that the WebsiteX5 software supports is that web browsers must support playing this format, all 4 of the major browswers do.

Will WebsiteX5 add this format? Apple is a major company; M4V is a major format.

Not an issue if I create the video. But if someone else creates it and they choose the m4v format to same it, that is what I have to work with. I was able to convert it to an mp4. That takes my time and creates a larger file to upload. But it is not a show stopper. Just an inconvience.

... unfortunately the WEB has its own rules, different from the PC ...
... you should convert to one of the formats mentioned above and one of the most compatible is for example the WEBM ...
... on the M4V format if you document on the net you will find more information, mostly negative ...
