IMPORT PROJECT-COPY ALL the PROJECT FILES IN THIS FOLDER
I have started converting my 60+ projects to V9......
Can you tell me why the FILES are NOT being copied into the folder I chose for the files to be linked too???
They are staying in the same V8 location folder they came out of!!!
After converting my project into V9....... If I delete the old V8 project folder all my files are missing!!!
**I have read every article you published on converting to V9**

Linked files to my sons project........
There are 2 types of importation:
In the first case the project attached files are not copied, the software keeps their original position. You can even see the folder field in the importation window is disabled.
In the second case the images are copied into the specified folder.

Yes this is the case....
But users will automatically think that once the V8 project is inside V9 they will be able to delete the old V8 project files (If they don't check the paths to the images)
In the case of your answer it would be beneficial to us to create a "FULL" V9 Project by Exporting the V8 into a IWZIP then importing it back into V9!!! That would be the only time we could actually delete our old V8 Files!!

Thanks for your feedback. Maybe we can change the interface to be more explicit and warn the user about where are his files.
Hi, this is a huge mega problem!
When we have lots of projects, we have structured them in folders to be able to move from PC 1 to PC 2 etc, always the "same location"(eg C:\\website)
When using V9, I created a new folder for imported projects, in order to know which are transferred from V8 to V9. If the files (e.g images, docs) are to remain in the original V8 folder it will cause chaos! And to expect us to alter all image paths and other links is out of the question! We might have thousands. Therefore, the user must him/herself be able to structure and organize the files.
The solution is NOT to insert a warning. The solution is to fully import everything belonging to the project into the chosen folder.
Example: I have written an order (i.e project file) concerning 20 bottles of Italian wine (i.e. 20 images in the project). I wish to have them sent to my home (i.e. the chosen folder in the import window). When I confirm the order (i.e. click [Import]), I expect the bottles to be delivered to my house, I dont expect them to stay in Italy!!!!!!
WebSite X5 doesn't copy files while importing IWP files because they are exactly the same used in version 8. This behaviour is used even while importing IWP files from version 7 into version 8.
For IWZIP, files are copied because this procedure is thinked for project exportation on other PCs.
If you follow the importation procedure, after setting the IWP file you won't be able to choose the files folder.
