Update within wsx5 Not working my last few updates  en

Hello,

Not sure if something happened, but I'm finding that as of the last few updated within Website X5, I am not able to update and instead, have to download the latest update from the website rather than within the program itself.

Whenever I try to update it, I get the following error:

"It was not possible to install the files on your computer.  Please verify that all programs are closed and restart the update."

I've tried everything it stated, and even tried to restart my computer a few times.  And yet it still occurs.  I didn't do anything new on my computer that would have changed this, and I used to be able to update up until the last two or three latest updates, to which this now happens.

Is there a way to fix this?  Or perhaps there's a bug within the latest versions that's not allowing it to be downloaded directly from within the program itself?  Thanks in advance.

Hi German, are you using Windows 11?

If yes, have a look at the end of this post: Post/253201

Its in German, but it seems that there could be a problem with the security rights for file access in the X5 directory under W11. Maybe that is the reason for the failed update too.

German, if you start WX5 as administrator can you successfully apply the inline update?

If not it may be necessary to re-install WX5, but if you do so, after uninstall of WX5 delete the WebSite X5 Pro folder you find on C::\Users\ Your Windows username \AppData\Local\Incomedia and then do an install of WX5
