Text Objects with tabs have problems with viewing on cellphones !  en

Hi.

At first the problem : When you use a text object with tabs; there is no problem with desktop view. But when you view with cellphone, the restriction about text objects frame height (in my case 400) don't apply and you just see a looong rectangle all the way down on the phone.

is this a bug? Or can this be avoided with some extra adjustment? (i've been trying for days with no result, so i wanted to ask you from here)

Under construction/beginning of my site is here : http://www.implant-ankara.com/index.html
The text object with tabs's settings is attached to this post.
The text object's screenshot on regular viewing with a pc browser is attached under the settings in the same picture.

The text objects phone view, you must see it for yourself on your phone :)

Now about me :

i am a pretty amateur user of website x5 pro but fortunately this program needs not much experience to use for basic tasks so i begin to make a site for my wife who is a dentist.

So far so good, there is so much to do/write for now but since i come across with my first bug(?) of the program, i need to ask you if this problem is a solvable one?

it will be just about dental implants and will have just a couple of pages, but a big - very big first page where all the information about dental implats is written on.

Thanks for your time and help.

I'm not a web designer and I don't know the tastes of Turkish website visitors either.

But I'm wondering if there is that much text on the page? Especially on the mobile phone, hardly a visitor should scroll down that far, right?

Or is all that text meant to impress Google on SEO? - the SEO experts would have to comment on whether so much text would be beneficial for Google.

Personally, I would only list a few important things on the start page, e.g. types of treatment with 1-2 photos, address, telephone, email address and maybe Google Maps. And spread all the rest of the text and images over several subpages (about 10).

Well, thank you Daniel you say very logical things. i am thinking about the same, but my first goal is to put information as much as my competitor sites in that area who are in first page on google in search keywords " implant + ankara ". And, as i see/search, i should put as much as at least 4-5 times more on this page. But time will tell, i may add more pages after/if i may get a reasonable rank in google. For now, i am not in 50th page :)

But, about the txt/tab problem.. Did you look & see how that tabbed text object seem like an endless blank rectangle without proportion?

Serkan, I had a similar problem with tabs in mobile view.

I found I had to have almost precisely the same amount of content in each tab, otherwise one or a number of the tabs appears to be mostly free space.

Depending on the content of each tab you may get a better result with the Accordian Text optional object. Until recently I would have advised trying the free version, but for many people this no longer appears to be available leaving only the Accordion Text/FAQ optional object which sadly costs credits.

Thank you for reply Esahc. i have accordion Text paid version and already used in that site in two places. it's pretty good BUT in that app, WE CAN'T use bold/colored text or links or pictures etc.. it's very inconvenient in long writings, there has to be some nuances for reader to ease reading long textes. Unfortunately accordion text application is useless in that regard. :(

Serkan, if persisting with tabs in a text box, you can dispense (in tab style) with the tab headings and make the tab headings part of the content then select as slide show but don't select autoplay. The navigation buttons can stay visible. You still have to ensure the content of each fills the same amount of space in every resolution.

As for Accordion Text, you can bold, italic, etc and you can add links etc using rudimentary html code. I avoid this as much as possible, but it would provide a solution for you.

Wow. i've just learned a wonderful thing Esahc, thank you very much ! :)
it will/may take time to adjust accordion texts as you teached me, so i will try that later (as soon as possible)

Since there are already so much content to read from the cellphone anyway (and there will be more in time), i think i will just exclude tabbed-text contents from lower resolutions of website, from responsive settings - show/hide. This may be a good work-around i think?

BUT; i hope, google does not count this as a penalty and don't use this as a sign not to increase my rank. :(

AND, dear website x5 creators, CAN'T YOU DO SOMETHiNG ABOUT THiS VERY OBViOUS AND RiDiCULOUS BUG? is there any website x5 developer here anyway? :)))

Thank you all for your help. All you have a nice day & live i hope. Bye.

x Serkan İ., ...ciao,  ... (It > En) ...unfortunately I don't know if I understood with the google translator...
... by chance, you are interested in my EXTRA code that adjusts the height of the TAB tab according to the content of the text of the relative tab, and then each TAB would be resized automatically, without leaving empty spaces on the bottom...?...
... unfortunately I currently don't have a PC and neither the Program, ...but if you haven't solved it yet and if you are interested, let me know, so I'll post my exclusive code to let you try it online...

.

ciao

Ciao :) KolAsim...

I had given up hope on another answer so it took me a while to check this post again, but now I see what you wrote (I'm about to go to sleep right now). That would be prettty cool if you could solve this tab problem of mine because i intend to use lot of tabs. But the other problem is; i have no idea what to do with the code you will give me. Where to paste it etc. i havent seen a meaningful (for me) a code in my life, i am that ignorant about that. But of course i am not an idiot (at least i hope so) and if you have patience to tell me what to do with that code, in a couple of sentences, i may manage to do what is necessary.

Thank you for your reply and your help. Hope to see you again.

... + ... this is the code, which will activate below 720 pixels of resolution:

... + ... a tip: ... this PNG > image (!) is too big and heavy (825 Kb) (!) ...
... in general avoid all images in PNG (!) that on average weigh six (6) times more than the corresponding JPG, making the page heavy and slowing down...

Thank you KolAsim !!!

it worked like a charm! :)

First Esach and now you taught me very valuable things. Thank you for sharing this nuances for newbies like us.

i really appreciate your help.

And about website png pictures, yes you were definitely right. i saw my mistake and i've already changed the picture you mentioned with a jpeg version. it's now 93kb! :) nearly 1/9 of the original. i've looked and saw that i have to replace at least 15 images more and now working on it. site load will be decreased 3-4 mb/per page view and load much faster i think.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. :)
