Wouldn't it be normal if in a guestbook, the latest message is on top? Well on mine it isn't !!! Can someone from Incomedia explain what the reason is? Thanks, Hans

Hello Hans,

The guestbooks usually shows the latest message at the bottom. Just like the comments in a blog.Wink

That's sort of a standard on the Internet and that's why we made it like that.

Hello Claudio,

I,m sorry Claudio, but I disagree! I've looked at a lot of 'Free guestbooks' on the internet and the standard is that the latest message is always on top (see example attached). To me that is also the most logical thing to make it work. I hope Incomedia will reconsider and change it, otherwise I don't see many people using the X5 guestebook.

Regards,

Hans.

Hello Hans,

The best solution should be let the user choose the visulization order. We can work on it in a future version. Wink

Hello Claudio,

Yes, that is the answer I appreciate! In the mean time I will use a 'third party' guestbook, because it is anoying for any visistor to have to scroll to the bottom to read the latest post (imagine this answers forum would work like that, you would have no visitors anymore!). Myself and many (if not all) customers with me, would like to see this improved functionality in the near future.

Regards,

Hans.

In some way I agree with the developers. The current format of the gurestbook allows visitors to the site read and understand all previous posts before making a comment.. and it also allows visitors to be engaged with the website more and spend more time with the website, then just come and go.. But a bit more could be done in the script to allow some css samples added so we beginners can take advantage of coding the guestbook with css codes.
