Yes same problem persists even with the latest installable - it runs through install and activation and then exits once the program is started.

It could be as simple as deleting c:\user\yourname\appdata\local\incomedia folder, but since this will also delete any other WX5 installations you may have I have marked your post for Incomedia so they can make the call.

Hello Macfie

This is not an issue specific of WebSite X5 but an issue with the current .NET Framework installation on your Windows machine on which WebSite X5 relies to work.

Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features > Turn Windows features on or off

Clear the check box for Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 and then click on OK. Clear also the check box for Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6 and then click on OK.

After Windows disables the feature you will need to go back to re-enable Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 and 4.6 and then click ok.

If this doesn't work, try downloading the .NET Framework 4.6 installer again from Microsoft's website and install it from scratch. See if it works then

Hi Stafano, thanks for looking at this. This PC is fairly recent so had .net 4.8 installed but just in case I have double checked and installed it again. Unfortunately, this has not cleared the run time error still the same.

Any other ideas?

Hello Macfie

Since the error is definitely related to .NET, it is possible that the installation of a specific .NET version on your computer is corrupted and the procedure provided above simply isn't enough.

Please try reinstalling .NET 4.5 and .NET 4.8 from the following links.

See if this does it:
