We have a site with a green background in the header and footer but would like to creat a single page with the same header and footer style etc but a different coloured background. Is this possible?

I would say yes in step 2 in model you can set the style as you want, if you have doubts post exactly examples with what you want, assuming I have understood your problem correctly.

This will change the whole site.

I only want one page to have a different coloured background to the header and footer.

See attachment, majority of site in green background but one page of site to be in blue.

No these are the software options, but header and footer for a single page you can easily create them with objects extending them to the whole page, if you try it doesn't seem complicated.

Yes I can with an object but this doesnt add the menu and if I add a menu I cant include the logo when trying to extend the to the whole page.

If I add a menu item, change background colour and then select object style for the menu I can add the logo image there as a work around

Probably changing header and footer colors by CSS on the specific page

If it's just a simple color change, then in the:

STEP 2 - Structure of the template. Makes the background of the header and the header transparent.

This will show the background color of the page and/or the color of the page content, which you can modify in:

STEP 3 - The page you want to change color - Properties - Graphic - Page background.

With that it would be enough for you to place a different color on each page. Same color that will be displayed in the header, since we have set it to transparent, showing the background color of the page.

I hope I have explained myself correctly.

Greetings.

Same thing: in the footer set both parameters to transparent.

Many thanks. The transparent header and footer seems the simplest option. Thanks for all your advice.
