  I encountered the error “Mail failure — rejected by local scanning code” a few days ago, and I accidentally stumbled upon the solution that worked for me. In my case, the solution was to make a minor change in Step #5 of Website X5 Pro. At Step 5 (e.g., “Export Website to the Internet”), I had to make sure to clear the checkbox known as “Allow sending from alternative senders” (this is in the “E-Mail” tab).

  Once I made that change, everything worked normally.
