admin and captcha directories are uploaded always even when I do not use any feedback or blog facilities. I do not wish to see files on the server which are not necessary.

The admin folder contains some features that are useful if you eant to check if everything is ok on your server. They dont take a lot of space, so just ignore them if you dont need them.

Could you send me a link to a help text? Which useful features? And which un/pw do I have to use or is it alle open?
Anyway, I think I do not need them, I want only things to upload which I want to upload. I want some control over what is being placed on the server!!
If you have the manual, look at page 167 and following. You can get that manual in the download section of this site.
The ID and password required to connect are those of the Administrator, that you'll find in step 4, Advanced parameters, Access Management. Of course, you can modify those, if yoy want. Dont forget to upload the site, after changing them.
The admin section is part of any website built with V9. You should not remove it.

I still disagree: no parts should be uploaded if not used! It takes time, space and mental capacity of the WHY!
Hi Hans, if you want you can delete the admin and captcha folders. Please note that the captcha letters images are created all the times for security reason. Anyway you could delete this folder again.

Yes but my point is that it takes uploadtime (I have a slow connection) and I simply do not expect to think about this kind of things with X5.
Hi Hans, WSX5 always has to upload those files: anyway the Admin folder size is 34KB and the Captcha folder size is 13KB.
