Content Div Height 100%?  en

Content DIV height 100%? I'm building a custom template whit in wich Header and Footer have fixed heights, but the content DIV should ocuppy all the screen's space remaining.

Researching the web I concluded that the CSS attribute HEIGHT of one of the DIVs should be 100%, but I don't know if I'm right.

In other post (http://answers.websitex5.com/post/2874) Lika told me to add a HTML object linked to a CSS file; that HTML object should fill all the unused space. But I couldn't make it work, and my CSS knowledge is almost zero!

I'm attaching an image to example.

The upper one shows what I get when the content of an object inserted don't use all the height of the screen.

The lower image shows the desired result.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi Marcus, I asked Lika if he can have a look at this post... Actually I don't see any 'fast' solution that could also be easy if you are not familiar with CSS Undecided

Almost it, Lika. The problem occurs when the content is insuficient to fill all the space of the screen between the header and the footer. In this case the footer rises up, and goes to the middle of the page. See the image.

I'd like that either with the content not filling all the space, the footer would be in the bottom of the page...

Thanks anyway, Lika. I guess I must define the height of a DIV to 100% in CSS and HTML to achieve the effect. I'll search and, if I found a solution, I'll post it in the forum.

Thanks, man!
