What and how to attach a document to a post?
Author: IncomediaWhen you open a post on WebSite X5 Answers, you have the possibility to attach files to it.
This option is very important, because these files can be very useful to those who help you. They may solve your post more quickly if they understand your question immediately.
Let’s say for example that your text is not where it is supposed to be, your image is not displayed correctly or a function in the program is not working as you thought it would, it is much easier to explain it with an image instead of using dozens of words! The image can display the program itself or your website in your browser.
In this case, your post should have a brief description of your doubts and one or more images attached to it.
Is it possible to capture an image of my screen?
Yes! It is very simple to capture an image of what you can see on your screen, there are several ways you can do this, here are the most common:
1. Snipping Tool
You can find this program on a PC with Windows Vista or Windows 7 operating systems. Please proceed as follows:
- Search for this program with the windows search field and start it.
- Drag your mouse and highlight the entire area you wish to capture.
- If necessary, add text and highlight what you are referring to exactly.
2. STAMP command on your keyboard
It does not matter what operating system you use in this case, you can always use this command on your keyboard:
- Open the window you wish to show us on your screen, then press the "STAMP" command on your keyboard.
- Open your favorite graphics program (Microsoft Paint for example), create a new document and paste your image.
- Cut and customize your image if you need to, then save it as. JPG.
Here’s a little trick: if you press ALT+STAMP on your keyboard at the same time, you will capture only the window you have opened instead of the entire screen. This will bring the attention only to the image we are interested in!
How can I attach several images or files?
Once your images are ready, you have to zip them into a unique file and attach them to your post:
- Select all your images or files and right click on them in order to open the drop down menu.
- Now select the Send to | Compressed (zipped) folder command then rename the file you have just created.
- When you have to attach the file to your post on WebSite X5 Answers, click on the "Search" button in order to select your file and attach it.
Please remember that it is not possible to attach files that are bigger than 1MB on WebSite X5 Answers. Please ask our technical team how to proceed if you have to send us files that are bigger than 1MB.
