Multi touch / extended info on pictures  en

Hello,

I have two problems with my current website ( www.volardesign.com ).

First of all the slideshows do not respond to multi-touch gestures like flick/scroll on touchscreen devices, which makes the site very hard to use for most of my customers – especially with smart phones.

Second I cannot find a way to but extended information’s on the pictures inside a slideshow. Like on most modern websites that makes up almost 100% of my content pictures which are this way almost invisible to search engines.

This are two major issues, because I have now a very pretty website most of my customers cannot use and search engines cannot find.

Thanks for the help in advance

Sincerely Volar

Hello Volar,

We tested your website on different mobile devices and the slideshow worked properly.

Could you please tell me with which specific device you had experienced this issue?

For the second question could please epxlain me better what extended informations you can't add on the pictures?

Hello,

It’s not that the slide shows don’t work but they cannot be controlled over flick and scroll which makes the use on small devices very cumbersome. People are used to flick and scroll because it's way easier and faster.

Samsung S3, LG Optimus, IPhone4S

I attached you a screenshot for the extended info on pictures

Thanks

Volar

Hello Volar,

You cannot add the extended informations in the gallery but you can add the description.

In the gallery object, if you select the List Tab you can add the description to every image.

Hope this helps.

Ok – that’s a big  problem because search engines now will not find the contend of all pictures  inside a slide show which in most modern websites is almost all of them.

Is there any fix in the planning ???!

Still – the other problem with the multi-touch. In the age of smartphones and tablets a must have for a working website – any solution or fix in the near future ?????

Thanks

Volar

Hello Volar,

Like I said before we tested the slideshow with different mobile devices and it was possible to scroll them.

For the extended informations on pictures in the slideshow i would suggest you to open an Idea Post where you describe the features you would like to see in the next releases of WebSite X5.

Hello Volar

I would recommend you to find a 3.Part slideshow and implement it at your page.

Take a look at my page for instance: www.webwawes.dk

It will redirect you when using a mobile to m.webwawes.dk, this slideshow is made for fingerscroll.

Regards

Hello Henrik,

I will look on that in the moment I can free up some time out of the real world.

We already thought about a solution like this – but I think that’s not the best approach – it’s a potential source for trouble. It’s too bad that Incomedia seems not even to realize the problems they are creating for their costumers – they don’t seem to deal with real people in the real world.

For the extended info we decided to ad it over an html editor afterwards and hope that Incomedia is fixing this soon. Google will not find any website with slideshows like now – so what’s the point …?

I am a little bit disappointed about that – HTML is exactly what I didn’t wanted to do …

Thanks

Volar

Hello Claudio,

I am not sure you understand the terms multi-touch, flick and scroll. You but your finger on the picture in the slide show and move it aside – no buttons – they are way too small for a 3.5” to 4.5” touchscreen. Even on my S3 - which is the best phone on the market today - it’s a headache. On an I4, I5 or any HTC/LG its extreme cumbersome.

If you can do that than please show me a screen shot how …. ?

Sincerely

Volar

Hello Volar,

The slideshow are visible but not all mobile functions, like flick and scroll, are supported. I wouls suggest you to open an "Idea" post where you suggest us to implement it in the future  releases.
