Hello my friend.....

When using the .ICO format for (X)HTML img elements, Internet Explorer versions 6 - 9b2 cannot display files served with the correct MIME type. A workaround is to use the non-standard “image/x-icon” MIME type

V9 has changed to type="image/vnd.microsoft.icon" (2003)

V8 was type="image/x-icon"

Wasn't showing using V9 MIME type so I changed it to V8 and it shows immediately??

IE & FF has always shown my V8 Favicon.......

Sounds good. But where can I change this? This is WebsiteX5-internal function.

Again manual change. Why do you provide new functionality that does not work. When do you provide an upgrade?

Hello,

Just inserted a favicon in a project, even inserted the html code suggested by Frank.

The favicon does not show in IE9, on one of the computers it shows in Firefox, other computers not even in Firefox.

What now?

What do you mean by:

save the image"favicon.ico"in your site folderwhen you export it.because itwould not be displayedin preview.

In my case it show in the preview list of the editor. it does not show in the test/preview. Only ( on one computer in Firefox )

Hi there,

After a lot of testing, I came up with this conclusion/solution:

Inserting the favicon with V9 works on some hosts/servers, not all.

I tried this out by publishing the exact same project + inserted favicon on two different servers. One displayed the favicon immediatly, the other did not ( even after inserting the codes suggested by Frank ( Cheecky man ) above.

Now I inserted the favicon manually by ftp program, then created the following link:

<link rel="shortcut icon" href="http://www.zealand-shipping.nl/res/Zealand Favicon.ico" />

Inserted that link in website X5 ( General/Advanced )

Publish the project

And there was the favicon on both servers in IE9 too.Laughing

Nicce work around, but even nicer if this was fixed in an update so it will work right away.Wink
