It should, but Explorer 9 shows slide1 and there it stays. It works in Firefox. I was advised that using Ver 9 compact would solve the problem so I purchased a copy but how can I load my existing project made in Ver 8 into the Ver 9. The import file named doesn't exist as far as I can see.

It's not what I see, it's what the people who access the site will see. There is obviously a compatibility problem if it works in Firefox without having to fiddle with settings. Are you saying that everybody using Explorer 9 will have to adjust their browser settings to get the correct view of that bit of the website or is it something I need to change at source.

Hello Brian, can you send us the URL of your web page so we can see that? Compact 9 uses Flash gallery so there's not should be problems on IE9. Let me know.

Here it is (My Ver 8 site)

http://rowifi.com/ndc/d_type_instructions.html

However, I have purchased a copy of ver 9 (Compact) but I cannot do a conversion from 8 to 9 because the import in ver 9 wants a iwpzip file before it will do it. Compact 8 does not create a zip file so the only way I can see round this is to manually re-enter each page. I would be interested in seeing if either I have misread something or there is a work round

Hi Brian, here is a solution to solve the problem of the slideshow on IE9. You need to enter this code into the HEAD of every page:

<metahttp-equiv="X-UA-Compatible"content="IE=7">

To do that, you need to open the INDEX.HTML file present in the subfolder TEMPLATES you can find in the installation folder of the template you are using.

This code has to be entered in before the </HEAD> tag.

Actually is not possible to convert a v8 project to Compact v9 because the features of v9 are different respect the v8 ones. You can just import the v8 project in Evolution 9.

Let me knowWink

Thanks for that info, does this extra code apply to Ver 9 or is it ver 8 only. I have now switched to ver 9 and realised that the import didn't work. I have rebuilt the site into ver 9 compact. A real time waster but all seems OK. Will confirm when I get round to uploading.

Hello Brian,

If you want you can send me the URL so I can see if the code is correctly inserted.  This code should work because it tells to the browser (IE9) to work as IE7! Thanks

I have taken down the Ver8 compact site now and replaced it with the Ver9 compact. This new package seems to do everything that is asked of it. I like the way that I only have to upload pages that have been changed which takes a few seconds. I might upgrade to Evolution to get a few more bells, whistles and flutes but in my case, at the moment, a lot of the features would not be used by me. The commerce for instance, but as it is so easy to write web sites using this Incomedia program, I might do more.

Thaks for the help.
