conversion from v9 to v10 is disastrous. non of my imports work correctly. V10 wants to apply other templates. looks as if I have to redo all my sites of uninstall V10 and stay with V9.

Hello Barry,

Can you please tell me what exaclty happens? Did you use custom templates which are not imported?

OK one of the sites uses "Blue Dream" from the "Travel" templates. When I export the project from V9 and import it to V10 and open it in V10 the  "Blue Dream" template is not there so it loads the first one it comes to "Web Portal 1". I have other projects that uses the template packs 901,902,903 & 904. These I purchased and now can't be loaded into V10 or convered from V9 to V10. Custom templates work fine or I can create new one, but with the ones that I purchesed or come with V9 dont convert.

Hello Barry,

We added most of the templates of Version 9 in Version 10 like the template packs. Just a few has been not added by copying the images of the template it bac be rebuild really fast in Version 10 and then it can be used for all projects. You can fidn all the graphic files in C:\Program Files\WebSite X5 v9 - Evolution\Templates and you can use them to rebuild it in Version 10.

Please feel free to write back if you need more information.

One of the selling point and why I upgraded was that V10 would easly convert V9 projects. in my case it clearly does not. conversion does not mest, as you say, find all the files from V9 and rebuild them in V10. That is not easly converted.

Hello Barry,

Tell me please the name of the template so I can check if it. In any case a Template is composed by maximum 5 files to add in a new custom template.

Many thanks!

I have changed the site to suite V10. I hope I don't have to do this for every new version.

If V10 was to convert V9 projects it shoud carry ALL the parts of the original project and not rely on what the new version has to offer.

Maybe this should be logged as an "Idea" for the next version

Hello Barry,

The Version 10 has the possibility to export the templates and projects separately so in case of an upgrade these can be imported in the new version separately.

Many thanks!

Hello Barry,

This function is only present in Version 10 but you can fnd the graphic files of this template in yourt computer under following path C:\Program Files\WebSite X5 v9 - Evolution\Templates\2.Travel\Blue Dream\

There you choose which one of the 4 you want and then you can add these files in Version 10 in a custom template.

With the new option in Version 10 to manage template separately you wil lbe able to move the template to new versions and use them wherever you want.

Many thanks!
