Hi,

I noticed the very similar situation what Jorge mentioned above. I am a heavy Website X5 v9 user, and I never faced such problems using it.

My observation was also a problem somewhere around the preview. But not only when I activate the preview, but when I am doing something on the preview page, trying controls, etc.

The elapsed time varied until the PC crashed, but usually only the reset button could help me. :(

Actually I am using Windows XP-SP3 with the latest patches applied.

Regards,

F.

Hello Jorge, Try to uninstall the .NET Framework 4.0 and then use this tool: http://cid-27e6a35d1a492af7.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/Blog_Tools/dotnetfx_cleanup_tool.zip When the tool hass finished reinstall the framework by downloading it from following link: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=17718 Once reinstalled test again if the same issue happens again and keep me updated.

It keeps happening... after al that

Hello...

I was just going to report this but I see this thread is already open.

I am experiencing periodic crashes with my PREVIEW...not all the time...but often. (v10)

There's no real harm done but it is just a nuisance having to restart the programme each time and waiting for the re-creation of the files.

There's no particular editing process that triggers this off.

Your best shot please!

Claudio...

I have followed your advice...but STILL crashing. (same details as above)

Yesterday I had a really strange event.

I clicked too soon on one of the cells, BEFORE THE PROGRAMME HAD FINISHED SAVING, and it crashed BUT THIS TIME it started to recreate project files and, when I came to publish, it published the WHOLE website which took hours and hours!

Hi Claudio...

No...nothing like it.

I have full Kaspersky.

If I can be more precise...when closing the preview (SOMETIMES), the screen momentarily goes white (1-2 seconds) and then it sometimes leaves me able to continue editing OR it crashes the programme with that message above.

I am MORE concerned about accidentally clicking on a button when the "saving" process has already started.

The form comes up to send to Incomedia and the programme re-creates the project files and hence a subsequent "publish" includes ALL those files as they are new!

Hello Nigel,

Can you please also try to set the simultaneous processes in the preferences to 1 to see if the same issue happens again?

Please try also with a new project, so you won't harm the main project and it's possible to identify also if it depends on the project or not.

Many thanks!

Ok Claudio.

I think it's a "memory" thing, too.

I'll reduce my processes and let you know.

I think it's really a case of being careful.

Hello Claudio,

I am having the same problem. Website X5 ver 10 crashed when I do a "Preview" after enlarging the size of the video screen. It was displaying perfectly before when the default size was being used.

One more thing how do I remove the "Pause" or "Play" icon from the video? Please see attached snap shot of the screen. Or should I post this in another topic?

Thank you for your help.

I just found this post, I am having the same problems.  I deleted the net framework and re installed, still the same problem.  Yes it does happen when I go to preview, but sometimes whilst not in preview.   I also have used 8/9 and now 10 and never experienced a problem like this before.  It is so frustrating, I can't work on any of my websites without it crashing. \

Please Claudio help us fix this problem so we can get working again.

"" please also try to set the simultaneous processes in the preferences to 1 to see if the same issue happens again?

Please try also with a new project, so you won't harm the main project and it's possible to identify also if it depends on the project or not."

I don't understand how to do the above, I have created a new project to test but where do I find the preferences to set to 1?

Can someone advise please?

Hi Susan,

It can be very frustrating to experience frequent crashes like that.  We will all do our best to help you find the solution.

Unfortunately I don't think Claudio will be back on the forum until Monday at the earliest...  I don't think Incomedia staff work over the weekends.

Hang in there!  Smile

Hello Samuel Kwok,

The Paly Pause is built in the Flash Video Player. Try to use an format which is supported by HTML5 like mp4 but if there's a flash fallback it will show always this player.

Hello Susan M.,

Please let's continue on http://answers.websitex5.com/post/62236 so it's easier to find a solution.

Many thanks!
