ESET warning during upload

I recently upgraded my WebsiteX5 from v. 9 to v. 10. Then converted an old project for use in the new version. After making a few minor changes I started uploading the project to my server. Now my ESET Smart Security firewall warned about "Port scanning detected". Why is that? This never happened using v.9 or using other FTP transfer software like e.g. FileZilla. Does this affect my project or my computer in any way?

Hello Harald,
Can you please tell me what exact message you get? Did you allow WebSite X5 in your Firewall?
Many thanks!

Hello Claudio D.
Thank you,
I do not know much about firewalls, so how do I allow WebSiteX5?
This is the message found in the ESET firewall log: "19.03.2013 14:06:14 Oppdaget portskanningsangrep 194.63.xxx.xxx:20 192.168.xxx.xxx:49xxx TCP" which means "Port scan attack detected" (some numbers changed to x).
The connection was blocked, and hence no data sent.
I consulted the ESET Knowledge Base for a solution, but the procediure described there gave the opposit result: My PC could no longer access the Internet.
I have sent a mail to ESET about this, but haven't got any answer yet.

Hello Harald,
Nothing to worry about. It is usual to have to allow a new software to use your firewall.
I have found a simple step by step tutorial at microcentertech.com/tech_center/DB/read_article.php?faqid=./HowTos/HOW5004712B.htm
The example is for Firefox but as you understand you can use it with WebSite X5 too.
Hope this can help

Hello Samuel V.
I have followed the adviced steps, but I still get the message about Detected Port Scan Attack and blocking of connection.
ESET technician also sent an answer, adivcing me to follow the routines described here: http://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN2951
but the error persists
Strange thing is, no other programs using FTP protocol for up- or download initiate this error message...
I also tried to upload using the version 9 of the WebsiteX5. This used to work well before I upgraded to version 10, but now the same error message appears when using that one too.
Don't know what to do about this...
Harald
Hello Harald,
It's not depending on the Program but probably on an update of the firewall. You need to allow the program to communicate by adding it in the white list of the program like the ESET support suggested.
Many thanks!

Problem solved?
I contacted my domain provider for their advice in this matter. They told me to use secure ftp protocol, which I did. Now the project was uploaded like it used to before. Why, and what causedd this I don't know, but so far it seems that everything works fine.
Thanks a lot for a web site building program with "endless" possibilities!
Best regards from Harald!
