Cart Issue - Need A Bit Of Help  en

Here I am again, wasting my weekend on the 5 step wonder program...

Ok, my small shop - I add a product, takes me to the cart - check out? No - I'll shop some more...

So, back to the shop page, but wait...there's no "view cart" button - do I have to buy something else, or close the website in frustration?  - HOW DO I ADD A VIEW CART IN THE SHOP PAGE BUTTON PLEASE?

Oh, I'll just empty the cart - oh look... there's no button for that either :( HOW DO I ADD AN EMPTY CART BUTTON IN THE SHOP PAGE

Oh I rememeber what I bought, i'll just check out - no, no wait a minute - there's no CHECK OUT button here? HOW DO I ADD A CHECKOUT BUTTON PLEASE?

I did an extensive search and read quire a few of the "Solved" topics, but no answers for me there.

I hope everyone else is actually enjoying their weekend...

Hi Steve,

In Step 2 - Sitemap Creation, if you drag the 'Shopping Cart' icon from the 'Special Pages' section then you can place it anywhere in the 'Menu' section  -  this will then create a link to the Shopping Cart in the Main Menu (and footer menu if you have it switched on).  In this way visitors will only ever be one click away from accessing their cart.

However, you can do even more.  You can do the drag and drop trick as many times as you like, creating a new link to the Cart each time.  And you can rename any or all of these pages by right-clicking on the newly dropped 'Shopping Cart' icon and editing the text...  for example to 'Checkout Now'

You can also create links to the cart via Text Objects or Image Objects created anywhere on any page.  In the case of a Text Object you form the link by  highlighting the text you wish to use and clicking on the 'Insert Link' icon in the toolbar above.  You can then choose either a 'View the Shopping Cart' link, or an 'Add to Cart' link.  If you choose to 'Add to Cart' then you can revise the link even further by opting to add directly to the cart, or showing the Product List of the selected category instead.

Cart links from Image Objects are created in a similar way.  The link icon is readily apparent when you double-click on the Image Object to edit its properties.

Kind regards,

Paul

Hi Paul!

Great reply - thanks ;)

Did this ;)

Don't get why you would do this?

Did this too!

Thank you VERY much for taking the time to help Paul ;)
