Variants of a specific language file possible?
Author: Marit Søbye NilsenI am using latest update of v10.
Language content management.
I have translated and imported my own Norwegian language file. All ok, no problem.
However, for some of the texts I need to have different translations (still in Norwegian) depending on the customer and his web site.
It seems that the NO language file I have made becomes "global" on the machine where I install it.
So what I have done is made a language file called "NX-Special" by duplicating my NO-Norwegian file and then modifying the texts in question. X5 accepts this way of doing it in the Language content management module, but my question is this:
What consequences, if any, does this way of working have on the system, the quality of my site and anything else that is "HIDDEN" or might be affected?
Hello Ian,
This will not affect in any way the quality of your site. The only things is that it will add as content language nx-special in the html code. It would be better to have NO as language name but since you are creating a different translation, and the page is rendered as utf-8 it will recognize all characters and display them correctly.
Please feel free to write back if you need more information.
