Save Our Project Files!  en

I lost my project file through a careless deleting mistake in my local PC. May I suggest that the project file (with a .iwprj extension) be uploaded to the hosting server every time we publish our work. That way, even if we lose it locally though deletion or reformatting, we can still download it through some third-party ftp client and work on the website again.

Hello Anton,

It's an interesting suggestion, but it would obviously increase project upload times and there may also be security issues?  Why not just back up the .iwprj and/or .iwzip files to local media? Such as USB flash drive, CD/DVD, external hard drive, network drive?

Personally I use a backup schedule which automatically backs up all my projects every two hours.  No need to even manually activate the backup.  Just set and forget.

Just an idea...

Thanks for your suggestion.  I'm sure the team at Incomedia will consider it thoroughly.

Best regards,

Paul

I sure hope so. There won't be security issues anyway, in as much as the files are all there with the .iwprj program file, and can be accessed only by the owner of the hosting account.
