How do I use different templates for different pages of my website?

I am building a website that I would like to divide into two areas, one public and the other for password-protected pages. In this regard I would like each area to look different from the other.
Having said this, I need to apply different templates to the two areas.
Please help. Thank you.

Go in to site map creation. Click (highlight) the page you want to have be different from the regular template. Click page/level properties the click graphics tab. At least it works like that in Evo 9

I use Website X5 version 10.1.6.49.
Tim W., the solution you mentioned only changes the graphics in the page. I was talking about entirely different templates, choosing from those that are available in 1-General Settings -> Template selection.
you can change the background (like Tim said) but there is no option like step1 to give you section by section.
