Can someone from Incomedia please clearly define the steps to setup the Guestbook Object and Data Management Settings so that these elements establish a connection to a MySQL db, which has been created along with a table?

Hello,
I have created a database server side along with a table of 4 fields, which matches the number of fields in the Guestbook Object. Everything seems to be setup correctly within Data Management as I have defined the database name, hostname, username and password. I have also setup a folder server side for PHP output. Alas, it is not working. Could ples outline the steps necessary to make the Guestbook object functional? Thanks,
Rob

did you create your database inside your server? if no, you need to do that, then put the information of your database inside webx5 program, x5 program can not create a sql database inside your host!
login to your cpanel then go to sql database wizard and create your database, remember to save all the information, database name, username, password, you will need those information to put them inside your x5 database information.

Gents,
As mentioned in my original post, I have created the database server side. I referenced the post mentioned but the commemts and included support links do not address my issue. The guest book object has four fields and a voting element. There is nothing that says, "You need to name the fields in your table so that they match the fields pre defined in the guestbook object. Here is a link to the area where the guest book object resides, live on my site. Please have a look and test if you would. Make sure your speakers are turned down. I have an mp3 loop on this page as well. Thanks very much,

after you create your database then you need to go to step 4, data managment and place the info of your database there. then you place your gueebook object and open it, on the left section you will see " data save section", if you wish to keep them in database, you need to choose database, then new menu will apear, from dropdown menu choose your datbase and then give it a table name.
if still didn't work, then go back to your server side and creat a table inside your database and then give that table name inside your guessbook object "Table Name"

Thanks Anthony. What about the field names in the table? What should those be named and in what order? Thanks very much.

place a name like "guest" over there, if your account has previlage to create a table (depend on the time you were creating your database, you will be ask, when you create a username and pass to assign a user to your database, give full previlage to the username).
you can always set it by email (inside your guess book) in that case you dont have to deal with any of these settings
