Hello Carl,

What error message do you get when you try to upload?

Can you post a screenshot of your FTP settings in Step 5?  Please obscure your password if doing so.

The best people to help you find the correct settings to use would be the staff at one.com, as they will have important knowledge of your server configuration.  It is really their job to resolve this, but we will try and help if we possibly can.

The 'destination folder' is the folder on your server which holds the index file for the domain of the website in question (usually index.html or index.php).  WebSite X5 needs to upload all of your project files into this folder.  An examination of your current directory structure using an FTP client like FileZilla should help you find the folder quickly  -  or once again, the support staff at one.com should be able to do the same.

Kind regards,

Paul

Host  ftp.electricscootermobility.com

user    electricscootermobility.com

password  xxxxxx

port  21

destination folder  /customers/9/c/c/electricscootermobility.com /httpd.www

getting message ftp address and port see server provider

I have contacted one.Com and they have not been able to help me with why uploads do not work with the websitex5 export upload page. I can only upload when using filezilla. When using x5 export page  Get the error messages. One.Com tells me the problem is with the x5 page.  Also the pass ftp box is checked and the gzip box is not. I have tried different varies of this still no luck. What is frustrated the intial uploads and subsequent needed changes have worked just last update to website is when problems occurred in uploading. Also the last website changes that I made was with one of the duplicate websites that I save as a back up in the event I need to make larger changes to text or grahics. Not sure if that can be an issue.

What happens when you click the 'Next' button at the FTP settings screen?  Does WebSite X5 allow you to progress to the next screen?

If so, then can you please post a screenshot of what you see on the next screen...  thanks.

If not then suspicion falls on the password.  Please delete the existing password and retype (manually, without pasting) the exact same password as that which is used to connect successfully using FileZilla.

Very strange way to the destination. It gives you a hoster?

When you click next  message pop ups stating  connecting to server tries to connect then the error message states failure to connect have changed password and typed in same pass as filezilla still no luck. Cannot screen shot currently on a mobile device.

That is the destination folder that has worked previously.

Double-check the FTP address and Username are typed exactly as they should be, with no leading or trailing spaces, or missing punctuation, etc.

Temporarily disable any firewall or anti-virus which might be interfering with the FTP connection.

If you cannot progress to the second screen, then unlikely as it may seem, the FTP credentials are incorrect (in WebSite X5), or the connection is being blocked.

It's also possible to use SFTP, which is a far superior solution anyway due to its enhanced security.  Ask your host to allow secure shell (SSH) access, and ask them to give you connection credentials for the same.  You can then use these to connect in Step 5 using Server Type SFTP - SSH File Transfer Protocol
